Captain Paul Kujala is a 2nd generation fisherman who was educated at Oregon State University. Trawling for most of his life, Paul lives in Warrenton, Oregon and also works in the family business Skipanon Brand Seafoods. He is a full-time trawler with over 30 years’ experience on the ocean. He fishes weekly throughout the year as weather allows.

The fishing vessel Cape Windy is a 55-foot long steel trawl vessel built in 1973 in Fort Bragg, California. She has a top speed of approximately 8 knots and can hold 45,000 pounds of bottom fish. Paul spent two years rebuilding the Cape Windy after purchasing the boat in 2004 and started fishing her in the Groundfish fishery in 2006.

Pacific Coast Seafood is a traditional seafood processor located in the community of Warrenton, Oregon. Employing 130 people full-time, Pac Coast is located on the Skipanon River. The plant can process over 80,000 pounds of bottom fish in a day. In addition to Groundfish, Pac Coast processes Dungeness crab, salmon and Oregon Pink shrimp.
